the name game

The mist rose off of the water and ice today as temperatures started to drop once again from unseasonably moderate to below freezing, as we head into night.  This is home.  A wild tundra and place of extremes, a hearty cross section of my life here on this earth full of vim and vigor and constant change.  I don't know what I would do without it.  I was one of those kids who always moved around her bedroom, scooting my bureau and desk across the floor, beloved knickknacks balanced on top of all available surfaces not wanting to take the time to actually pack things up, and shimmying my bed single handedly into a new corner to catch a new vibration.  I crave that shift of energy.  And so here I am, slowly unpacking and rearranging my new virtual space on the cusp of this brand new year.  Ahhh.  It feels like home, despite the fact that it has not been formally addressed.

Actually, a funny thing happened on my way to the domain registry.  I realized there was a lapse in my ownership of my own namesake's dot com, wherein some corporate web engine bought the rights and parked me somewhere in virtual purgatory, so I am still deciding if I will become a dot net, or dot org, or hold out until the new web extensions are released and I can grab my own dot studio.  It feels like a fresh start none the less, and a transition long in the making.

After almost 10 years, I finally get to be Me!

I can't wait to tell you about the newest adventures happening here (and about my new, most adorable kitty named, Oscar!).  I'll be unpacking lots of shiny new things for you in the coming days so keep poking around. For now, know that this coming year there will be filled with lots of gathering and making, lots of wish-manifesting, and loads of new discoveries during this season of fire.

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for some heat around here.
